Nedbank offers a convenient cardless withdrawal service that allows you to send money to any recipient, whether they are a Nedbank client or not. Recipients can withdraw the money at any Nedbank ATM or participating retail store using a 10-digit voucher number and a four-digit one-time password (OTP) sent to their cellphone.

What is a Cardless Withdrawal?

A cardless withdrawal is a digital solution enabling Nedbank clients to send money to any recipient. The recipient will receive a 10-digit voucher number and a four-digit OTP via their cellphone, which they use to withdraw the money at any Nedbank ATM or participating retail store.

Requirements for Sending Money

To send cardless cash, you need an active Nedbank transactional (current or savings) account or a MobiMoney Account.

How to Send Cash to a Recipient’s Cellphone

  1. Access the Nedbank Money app, Online Banking, Cellphone Banking (USSD), MobiMoney, Avo, or the Nedbank Private Wealth app.
  2. Select the option to pay or send money to a cellphone.
  3. Enter the recipient’s cellphone number.
  4. Enter the amount you would like to send.
  5. Confirm the transaction to complete the process.

Registration

You do not need to register for cardless withdrawals, but you must have access to any Nedbank digital banking platform or a MobiMoney Account.

Transfer Fees

  • From one MobiMoney wallet to another wallet: Free.
  • From any Nedbank account to a MobiMoney client: R10 for amounts of R1,000 and less, R14 for amounts from R1,001 to R2,500.
  • From any Nedbank account to a non-MobiMoney client: R10 for amounts of R1,000 and less, R14 for amounts from R1,001 to R2,500.

Maximum Transfer Amount

The maximum transfer amount is R5,000 a day, with a default maximum limit of R2,500. You can increase your limit to R5,000 at any Nedbank branch, via the Nedbank Money app, or through any online banking channel. For MobiMoney users who have not yet fully completed the FICA process, a maximum transfer limit of R4,000 applies.

Retrieving Lost Voucher Details

If the voucher is lost, the recipient can dial 120002# and select “Get Cash Voucher,” then follow the prompts to retrieve the details.

Voucher Expiry

A voucher is valid for 30 days. If not used within this period, the money will be returned to the sender.

Sending Cash Multiple Times

You can send cash multiple times in one day, provided the total does not exceed the daily transfer limit of R5,000.

Incorrect Cellphone Number

If you send money to the wrong cellphone number, call 0800 555 111 for assistance in canceling the voucher and arranging a refund, provided the voucher has not been used.

Withdrawing Cash at a Nedbank ATM

  1. Select “Cardless transactions.”
  2. Select “Cardless withdrawal.”
  3. Enter your voucher number.
  4. Enter the OTP sent via SMS.
  5. Select “Withdraw.”
  6. Enter the amount you want to withdraw (you must withdraw the voucher amount).

Withdrawing Cash at a Retail Store

  1. Go to a till and request a Nedbank cardless withdrawal.
  2. Provide the cashier with the voucher number.
  3. Enter the OTP sent via SMS.

Withdrawal Limits

There is no limit on the number of withdrawals per day, but you must withdraw the full amount per voucher.

Withdrawal Fees

  • MobiMoney Account clients:
    • One free withdrawal per payment received.
    • R10 per withdrawal out of bundle.

Using Nedbank Cash Send

The amount will automatically move into your MobiMoney wallet. You can also use Nedbank Cash Send to send money to yourself.
