The winner of the R100 million Lotto jackpot has yet to step forward and claim their life-changing prize. Ithuba, the operators of the National Lottery in South Africa, have confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased at a Pick n’ Pay store in the Gauteng province.

Ithuba’s Appeal to Gauteng Participants

In a statement, Ithuba urged all participants from Gauteng to check their tickets and see if they hold the winning numbers. Charmaine Mabuza, CEO of Ithuba, emphasized the significance of this win, noting it as the second-largest jackpot in Lotto history.

“This monumental win marks the second-largest jackpot in the history of Lotto. We are overjoyed and can’t wait to meet the lucky winner. We urge everyone who bought their tickets at Pick n’ Pay stores in Gauteng to check their tickets immediately. This could be your moment of a lifetime,” said Mabuza.

Details of the Historic Win

The guaranteed R100 million Lotto jackpot, from draw number 2461 held on Saturday, 3 August, was won after 25 consecutive rollovers. This stands as the second-largest Lotto jackpot, with the highest being R110 million, shared among four winners in January 2018. Three of those winners bought their tickets from retail stores in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, while the fourth used the FNB banking app.

What Happens Next?

Ithuba has assured that their dedicated team is eagerly awaiting the winner to ensure a seamless claim process and transition into their new multi-millionaire status. The organization reminded all players that Lotto tickets are valid for 365 days from the date of the draw, providing ample time for the winner to claim their prize.

Additional Support for Winners

In addition to the prize money, winners of R50,000 and more are entitled to receive free financial advice and trauma counselling, ensuring they are well-supported in managing their newfound wealth.

Final Call to Check Tickets

As the search continues, Ithuba has appealed to all Gauteng participants to double-check their tickets. “We are overjoyed and can’t wait to meet the lucky winner. This monumental win marks a significant moment in Lotto history, and we want to ensure the winner claims their prize smoothly,” added Mabuza.
