SASSA Payment Dates for February 2026 Confirmed

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially confirmed the grant payment dates for February 2026, along with important guidance for beneficiaries who wish to update their banking details or payment method.

As with previous months, SASSA will release grant payments over three consecutive days to reduce congestion at pay points and ensure a smooth distribution process.

SASSA Grant Payment Schedule – February 2026

Beneficiaries can expect payments on the following dates:

  • Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 3 February 2026
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, 4 February 2026
  • Children’s Grants and all other grants: Thursday, 5 February 2026

Payments will reflect automatically in beneficiaries’ bank accounts or chosen payment channels on the assigned dates.

Changing Banking Details or Payment Method

SASSA has reiterated the correct process beneficiaries must follow if they wish to change where or how they receive their grant payments.

To request a change, beneficiaries must:

  • Present a valid South African ID
  • Provide proof of bank account
    • For a new account: an official bank confirmation letter
    • For an existing account: a three-month bank statement
  • Visit their nearest SASSA local office
  • Complete and sign a consent form authorising SASSA to process the update

Changes cannot be made online and must be completed in person to prevent fraud.

Important Deadline to Avoid Delays

SASSA has emphasised that timing is critical when submitting changes.

Beneficiaries are advised to submit banking or payment method changes before the 19th of each month. Requests made after this date may only take effect in the following payment cycle.

Failure to follow the official process or missing the deadline could result in payment delays or funds being sent to the previous account.

What Beneficiaries Should Know

  • Grant payment dates may differ each month
  • Funds can be withdrawn at ATMs, retail stores, or accessed via bank accounts
  • No one should pay to change banking details — SASSA services are free
  • Beneficiaries should rely only on official SASSA communication channels

Final Reminder

SASSA continues to urge beneficiaries to follow the correct procedures when updating personal or banking information to ensure payments are processed accurately and on time.

Beneficiaries are also encouraged to remain cautious of misinformation circulating on social media regarding grant payments and eligibility.
